Caucasian khorjin, or double-sided bag, possibly Georgia, ca. 1900, all wool.
Exceptionally fine tapestry weave on multi-coloured warps (black, white, red, black, red, white, black) creating a salt-and-pepper effect where different colours interweave. Soumak finishes and original loops, fuchsin in the soumak and a chemical red in the overcasting, otherwise all natural dyes
