Description

This antique Persian Heriz carpet dating to around 1900 is a beautiful example of its type.

It has an all over design, which is generally considered very desirable for an interior decor. The field on a rich, red ground is filled with various plant motifs in a wide range of colours, mostly in  pale hues of blue, yellow and pink.

The main border with plant designs on a dark blue ground contains the richness of the field in a most satisfactory manner.

The room size carpet is in perfect condition, with a full wool pile on a cotton foundation. All dyes are derived from natural dye stuffs.
