Description

Archaic Yomut chuval, a bag face from Turkmenistan made by a member of the Yomut tribe and  dating to before 1800. This size of bag would have been part of the dowry, alongside other pairs of bags of smaller proportions.

Worked in wool, it is a weaving of majestic simplicity
